Book Rave

Scandalous Lord, Rebellious Miss by Deb Marlowe

Debut author Deb Marlowe has written a breathtaking tale set in the Regency era. The unconventional heroine is what we would call an interior designer, and the hero's attempts to escape his attraction to her are great fun. There's nothing more enjoyable than watching a former rakehell try to ignore his natural tendencies! But underlying all that fun is a deeply emotional relationship between two well-drawn characters. You're bound to like this one.

The Courtesan's Daughter by Claudia Dain

Fellow Goddess blogger Claudia Dain has written a riveting and tremendously witty account of a girl on the brink of womanhood. You'll drool over her hero, but you'll adore her courtesan mother, Sophia, who gives new meaning to the term Machievellian. The scene with the pearls was so sexy it had me swooning. Don't miss this one.

Movie Rave

North and South

Ah, Richard Armitage. Is there ANYTHING he can't make riveting? I'd already fallen in lust with him in the new BBC series "Robin Hood," but with this four-hour mini-series based on Elizabeth Gaskell's Victorian novel, I fell in love. For more of why I love the story and Armitage, check out what I said at Ramblings on Romance.
